Passionate about the marine environment since childhood, I have been spearfishing since the age of 14. Over the years, I have developed a good level of physical fitness through related activities (triathlon, rugby, weight training). At the age of 35, when I ended my competitive rugby career, I decided to dedicate myself to the world of federated underwater activities and earned all my spearfishing certifications.
For several years, the idea of ​​creating an association focused on spearfishing, environmental education, and training had been germinating in my mind. In March 2016, I initially founded the Estérel Blue Water association, affiliated with the French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports. I then obtained my spearfishing instructor certification, which allowed me to lead and supervise training sessions in a swimming pool with a group of 12 freedivers/spearfishers. I then progressed to becoming a certified instructor, which I obtained in April 2017. Within our association, the main activity is introducing and teaching freediving spearfishing.
It also teaches freediving in all its forms in swimming pools and at sea, as well as knowledge of underwater fauna and flora and the main practices to follow in order to preserve and maintain the Mediterranean biotope, in compliance with the rules in force.
This association is interested in the entire biotope that the marine world represents, under our motto: "discover, understand, love and protect", while practicing reasoned and respectful harvesting, for family consumption.

Our main activity: Education about the marine environment and sustainable development, through recreational underwater activities.
My involvement with our association allows me to participate in local awareness and prevention initiatives for boaters and tourists, promoting the discovery and respect of the sea. In this capacity, we work underwater to best protect our coastlines from waste through targeted actions, such as freediving campaigns for sustainable development that clean up the seabed. Spearfishing along the Mediterranean coast is largely unregulated throughout the year. A membership in the FFESSM (French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports) is sufficient for civil liability coverage, and individuals may or may not purchase personal insurance to practice freely. However, a revealing observation reveals a surge in spearfishing during the summer months, involving beginners, some slightly more experienced, but primarily those poorly informed about underwater activities and the inherent risks of freediving. Very often, these are young people who take undersized species and sometimes even protected species. In our region, particularly in the eastern Var basin, there is no organization that provides supervised freediving spearfishing instruction, with all the associated regulations.

My goal today is to bring my expertise and professional knowledge to the teaching of underwater activities, particularly spearfishing, in a well-structured way; while conveying the values ​​that are dear to me in terms of prevention and respect for the underwater world.
Spearfishing requires a deeper understanding of freediving itself, encompassing both the sensations involved and the physical effects. I will therefore lead a forward-looking discussion with practitioners to develop practical workshops, from introductory to advanced freediving courses, all designed to benefit spearfishing.

My professional project will be based on the growing demand from practitioners, and the services offered will comply with federal requirements related to freediving and spearfishing. These services will be enhanced by an ideal setting for the activity.
